One year after his arrest, torture doctor Alaa M. is tried before the Higher Regional Court of Frankurt.

It is about the most severe mental and physical cruelty: Alaa M. is said to have brutally tortured civilians as a doctor in three hospitals in Syria. According to the indictment, he is said to have set fire to male genitals and mistreated prisoners with medical devices.
Now the Federal Prosecutor's office has indicted the Syrian, who has practiced in Germany since 2015, in the Frankfurt Higher Regional Court - for crimes against humanity and serious and dangerous bodily harm.
According to the indictment, Alaa M. was up to mischief in hospitals in Homs and Damascus between April 2011 and the end of 2012, as well as in a military intelligence prison in Homs. His alleged victims: 18 prisoners - Alaa M. is said to have even killed one of them.
▶ Penis attacks: In the summer of 2011, the doctor is said to have doused the genitals of a young person with alcohol in the emergency room and set them on fire. M. is said to have done this to another man.
▶ Beatings: The alleged monster doctor is said to have tortured nine other prisoners with kicks, blows and medical equipment. He is said to have squeezed the genitals of one of the inmates. He is said to have hit existing injuries several times. He is said to have treated a fracture without adequate anesthesia.
▶ Death tablet: A prisoner who had an epileptic seizure is said to have first given blows and then a tablet - the man died shortly afterwards.
▶ Death syringe: A prisoner who resisted, M. was fixed on the floor and beaten. Then, according to the prosecution, he gave him a syringe - the man died.
▶ Hanging torture: M. is also said to have hung prisoners from the ceiling with his hands and mistreated them several times.
The Syrian had lived in Germany since mid-2015 and continued to work as a doctor. The arrest succeeded in June 2020, and Alaa M. has been in custody since then.
